Basic Roleplaying is a derivative of Rune Quest designed to be a slimmed down entry level RPG. On the foundations of Basic Roleplaying the company Chaosium has created a score of great roleplaying games, such as Call of Cthulu, Stormbringer, Ringworld and Elfquest. These days there are two versions available from Chaosium’s website: the original slim booklet and a five volume expansion (which in reality is exactly the same game that was previously published as Rune Quest III).
